Let’s Dance
A fun adult accompanied creative movement class for 2 to 3-year-olds. Enjoy music and movement through storytelling. The children will develop body awareness and discover creative expression while having the comfort of a loved one with them. Adult participants may be a parent, guardian, grandparent, nanny, or sitter. Comfortable clothing needed. Children can wear whatever makes their imagination thrive.
Until certain COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, this class can not be offered. As soon as we can we will put it back on the schedule.
Tiny Dancer ( Pre-Ballet)
For young dancers of 4 to 5 years old. Tiny Dancer is designed to foster growth in a child’s developmental needs and create an engaging dance experience. Each class starts with bending, stretching, and moving. They will progress to traveling movements including marching, galloping, and jumping. Children also focus on learning to follow directions and dance as part of a group. Individual expression and creativity are encouraged as each child learn to use their body. These movements give them the core knowledge of ballet and helps guide them into the next level of the ballet school.
See Dress Code for leotard information.
Until certain COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, this class is offered to 3 students at a time. Children taking this class must know how to social distance from other dancers in the class or be from the same house hold. Taking it with a friend would be the most beneficial. Children of the same household are welcomed into these classes up to 5 at a time.
This class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 4:30
If you would like to come to more than one class per week you are more than welcome
The goal of WSYB is to prepare dancers from whatever age they join the studio to reach their full potential. As the students move through our curriculum, they will be challenged to apply themselves to fulfill their goals, not just in dance but in all the passions of their lives. WSYB strives to give every student the ability to mature at a pace that is beneficial to them. Dancers mustn't be pushed to achieve physical goals that may be harmful to growing bodies and souls.
With a background in many styles of Ballet training, Phyllis has taken from each method of instruction and refined it to create a syllabus that will produce well rounded and knowledgeable students. They will be able to adapt to different styles of teaching with integrity and safety.
Students need to arrive on time for class, in the proper attire, with hair for the girls, secured. The dress code is designed to encourage unity, simplicity, and discipline among our students.
