Washington State Youth Ballet provides the highest caliber of training to young dancers who wish to prepare for a career in the performing arts, and offers classes to dancers of all ages and levels in our wonderful community. WSYB strives to be one of the top training facilities for ballet in Washington State while creating a healthy learning environment for all students. WSYB's objective is to give our students tools to succeed in all aspects of their lives and plans. We will build the dancers of tomorrow but also help create young adults who will have confidence in themselves and their abilities to be successful in their future career paths. We realize you have choices in dance education. We invite you to our school to grow, experience, and create memories.

Teachers with Experience
Artistic Director Phyllis Rothwell brings her knowledge about the dance world from her career as a professional ballet dancer for over 25 years. With her connections to the ballet world, she strives to bring dance to Walla Walla in a healthy environment. Her students have become professional dancers with companies such as Netherlands Dans Theater, Ballet Idaho, LED, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Project Flux, Open Space, New Ballet, Whim Whim, and Ballet Fantastique. Summer intensives that students have been accepted to include Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Royal Danish Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, School of American Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Ballet Idaho, Kansas City Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Ballet West, Hubbard Street, Sacramento Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, State Street Ballet, North Carolina School of the Arts, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, The Portland Ballet, SALT, Golden State Ballet, Open Space, Whim, Whim, and Whitman Summer Dance Lab.
Continuing to be a sought-after master teacher and choreographer, Ms. Rothwell stives to be at the forefront of what the dance world offers its students.
